About David

David Santana, Acupuncturist, TCM Herbalist & Sound Healing Practitioner:

  • Chinese medicine teaches us that true healing happens when we create harmony within-between the mind, body, and spirit. Guided by the principles of Yin-Yang, the Five Element theory and the Zang Fu Organ theory, I help patients reconnect with the natural rhythms of their bodies and the world around them. Whether through acupuncture, herbal medicine, or simple lifestyle shifts, my focus is on restoring flow, easing discomfort, and nurturing resilience as life unfolds.

The conditions I treat vary greatly, but some of the most common include musculoskeletal pain, digestive issues, insomnia, stress, muscle tightness, pain or stiffness, as well as supporting fertility and regulating menstrual cycles. My approach is gentle and compassionate, creating a safe space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered in your healing journey.

In addition to acupuncture and herbal medicine, I also offer sound healing supported acupuncture sessions. With a background in music, including a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance and an active career as a professional jazz musician, I integrate therapeutic sounds from instruments such as the didgeridoo, singing bowls, amazonian Icaro’s and Native American flute.

Acupuncture alone can deeply regulate the nervous system, but when paired with healing frequencies from these instruments, it can support even a more profound relaxation and access to some of the most subtle layers of our being. It is a privilege to offer this integrated approach and to witness the depth of healing it can facilitate.

Healing is an ongoing journey of alignment, resilience, and transformation. Whether you are navigating a chronic condition, recovering from a recent challenge, or simply seeking greater clarity and vitality, I invite you to explore the supportive and transformative possibilities of Chinese medicine and sound.

Philosophy

The meaning behind ‘Medicine Dao- A Path to The Heart’.

The word Dao refers to “the natural way” - the underlying principle that guides balance, health, and harmony in the body and in life. Medicine Dao reflects the understanding that healing is not a single technique or treatment, but a pathway of returning to what is natural for the body mind and spirit.

The healing path is the path of reconnection. When we follow the Dao, we support the body’s inherent intelligence, allowing symptoms to resolve and deeper balance to emerge.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the heart is the seat of spirit – the place where clarity, emotional steadiness, and our capacity to feel connected live. When the heart is settled and Qi flows smoothly, the entire system functions with greater coherence. The path to health is, in many ways, is a path back to the heart.

My work is guided by this understanding and by a vision to create a treatment space that feels ceremonial in its atmosphere and intention. Each session is approached as a focused, grounding experience a pause from the pace of daily life, a moment to step into a quieter field, and a setting where your system can reorganise at a deeper level.
